Database Update

How often should the Database Update?
My website indicates the last database sync took place over 6 hours ago.
(Updated - 6/28/05)
Rebooted the server and all looks good again.
Last sync was 8 seconds ago.
I thought 6 hours looked odd....especially when it was in bold red text.

Well, I had to reboot the server again because the last database sync took place over 6 hour ago.
The only thing that I can think of that may be causing this is Veritas. I have it backing up the server about 30-45 minutes before Solarwinds stops updating the database. I'm going to put my backup tonight on hold and see if that makes a difference.

Well...putting Veritas Backup Exec on hold last night seemed to do the trick. I had no database sync issues.
I'm pretty sure that I wasn't backing up the SQL database (we back it up differently) so I'm not sure why Veritas was interferring.
I turned the backup job back on and made sure that the database isn't being backedup via Veritas so we'll see how it goes.
