Custom Chart, Default Chart Size - 640?

When clicking into a chart or by hitting the export button, we get the drill-down graph options.

I have been manually changing this number for years without a single thought.

Today, I stand up! There has to be a way to change this default size to a larger width, right?

jokerfest​ While I am not sure if there is an actual setting you can adjust within the system (and I don't think there is), it appears there is a hardcoded value in the "CustomChart.aspx.cs" file. You can change that value to whatever you want, and you should be able to see the results as soon as you save and refresh.

You will need to edit the "CustomChart.aspx.cs" file, located in "\inetpub\SolarWinds\Orion\Charts\".

The line you need to change should be somewhere on/around line 95.

The examples shown below are only small snippets from the code within the file, so the line numbers will be different. Line 24, below, will actually be on/around line 95 in the file.

Here is the before:

    /// <summary>    /// Gets the width of the chart.    /// </summary>    protected int Width    {        get        {            string value = string.Empty;            if (!IsPostBack)            {                value = Request["Width"];            }            else            {                value = chartWidth.Text;            }            int width = 0;            if (Int32.TryParse(value, out width) && width > 0)            {                return width;            }            else            {                return 640;            }        }    }

Here is the after:

This should change your default chart size, however, it will likely revert back to 640 if/when the config wizard runs.
