I'm trying to create an alert on cisco configuration changes that are made.
Has anyone created syslog or trap alerts for this please and how?
Thanks
Sam
Have you looked at NCM, see here
I've now configured the RTCN in ncm but the email is not being sent.
I have 3 syslog trap viewers (orion/ncm + toolset) at one point it the trap was being sent to the orion one,
next the ncm one and now the toolset one! maybe this is my issue as the alert is configured only in the ncm trap viewer?
thanks
sam
Which Syslog server do you have running active? Best bet to get it sorted out may be to open a support ticket
At syslog message pattern enter *SYS-5-CONFIG*
Hope this help.
Do you have NCM installed on the same server as NPM? If so, you can use the NPM Syslog/Trap service to trigger the RTCN. (That's how we're using it and it works great.)
Yes NCM and Npm are on the same box.
All looks to be configured ok but no email is generated.
When a configuration change is made to new configuration is downloaded to NCM but the email is not
sent. It's almost working!
I'll put screenshots up.
