NPM 9.1 average response time not valid

Question

hi ive some major issue

the AVG response time in NPM detail node not suitable with the response time when i run ping commmand from SOLARWIND server Command prompt
for 20 minute long i test it 
and cross check it with the data NPM node detail ,
there is a huge diffrent in response time value..

in NPM 9.1 the average response time 70 ms but in command prompt its only 2ms

ther right one is from command prompt because the network just only LAN ...i cross check it USING fresh install NPM 9.1 eval

in my vm machine and monitor the same node ,the avg is 4ms

can anybody help me to fix the problem on my production machine.

hi casey,

im not using Hyper V in my production machine ,

but i compare the AVG response time of PROD machine with AVG resposnse from fresh installed of NPM 9.1 evaluatin  from virtual machine (installed on my note book )

and monitor a same node

the result AVG response is diffrent between from prod and VM

the AVG resposnse time in my VM more reliable ( huge diffrent )

Are you using Hyper-V?  There's a known issue with multi-processor VM's and Hyper-V.  Check out this MS page for more details.

The solution proposed in the blog(and we've had customers tell us that it did resolve their problem) is to use the /usepmtimer flag in boot.ini.
