That depends - what information are you hoping to gather? What equipment is in use and what level of access do you have to it?

we monitor the BGP states and determine the health from that
(note: we're the ones running the MPLS network rather than the ones simply using it from a vendor)
If you're using MPLS from a vendor then enable BFD across the link and then monitor the routing protocols.
If you don't provide any information in your question, then how do you expect an answer? There is nothing special about MPLS to monitor, from Solarwinds perspective it doesn't even know what MPLS is. It's basically just another LAN device.
Please ask your self instead re opening thread from 2007...
To make it short
monitor the service quality if you are the customer IPSLA or the new Netpath ate good candidates.
if you are the service provider monitor everything you need to keep the SLA (interfaces capacity IGP)
