Is there no notification that a polling engine is having issues?

I didnt receive a notification from Orion regarding a node re-booting, turns out both of my additional pollers were having issues. I am in the NPM Home page every day and didnt see any issues, no events, no alerts, APM shows no issues.

Where is this notification supposed to be? How will I know if my pollers are having issues?

Note: Stopping Everything and Starting Everything fixed the issue.

No there is not and it just about defies logic. I have complained about this for some time because it is a hole in your monitoring. A poller goes crazy and you are now blind to thousands of elements even though the rest of Orion is running fine.

** Update **

I checked my system and it turns out that those alerts were in the Alert Manager but not enabled... I dont know why they are not enabled by default.

We also find that monitoring the Engines table comes in handy, particularly the PollingCompletion column. It usually lets us know if something overall (network, SQL, server load etc) is preventing NPM from keeping up its polling completion. There seems to be a bit of voodoo behind the scenes as to how this is calculated, and it seems purely NPM related - but I would say < 99% is usually sign *something* is degrading somewhere.

Sadly this figure doesn't include APM so we've not been able to accurately determine APM's completion with standard queries. On that note, APM doesn't appear to be included in the Polling Engine health summary - it just seems to list NPM? Seems to be a huge gap in monitoring SolarWinds itself.
