Firewall problem & SNMP

Hi there,

I have been trying to get stats off my network and when connected directly there is no problem. However we are now connected through a firewall and we have opened udp ports 161 and 162. I can see the servers and other equipment but can't get any info otherwise. Are there other ports that need to be opened or are there SNMP settings that I need to configure. The community names are correct and I was able to get all the needed info prior to the firewall connection. Any help would be appreciated.

Is it at all possible to disable the UTM (Unified Threat Management) IDS/IPS features of the firewall to see if that is indeed the problem? I know I've seen similar issues with Check Point's SmartDefense.

Have you allowed ICMP through the Firewall?
Make sure you have applied the latest Service Pack, as some of the earlier versions had an ICMP payload size of zero, which was blocked by most Firewalls.
