hi
i have a problem with two polling engines in my Solar winds NPM SLX 9.5
the server was working well since last year although the Network atlas was troubling me because of it's speed
and still the monitoring sever is doing fine but there is a new sever that needs to be installed and replace the existing server and the NPM is to be move to the new sever
to run a test i have installed a fresh copy of Windows 2003 Server SP2 R2 & MS SQL 2005 Standard & Solar winds NPM SLX 9.5 on the new server , installed all the Updates for Windows and SQL
after that I've backed up the old database and restored it in the new SQL database
when restore was complete I've tested the Web site and Network Atlas and the system manager and noticed that all the maps and nodes have been restored and both web site and Atlas are working properly but the Polling engine is not working and didn't collect the statistics since then
when i open the system manager i receive a window to chose between two polling engines . one of them is the old engine and the other is the new one but the new one doesn't have any node in it and the old one couldn't be opened . the error is that " could not connect to the polling engine on SRV227 "
the main server is still working properly
how can i fix the problem or is there another way to move the NPM to the new server
