Opening an SSH or Telnet session from Node Details in NPM

Question

When working in NPM, and having selected a node by clicking on it and then going to the Node Details page for the specific node, there is a tool bar on the upper right

Which has the following options:

Web Browse to the Device   SSH   Telnet   Solarwinds Ping tool   Traceroute  RDP

When we select the SSH option, we receive a message indicating:

No apps are installed to open this type of link. (snapshot above).

The issue is that Putty is installed on this host.

Has anyone ran into this and found a solution?

Do you need this to work in Firefox?  Chrome?  IE?  When I've done this, configuring the browser for the protocol <--> application relationship was all that was necessary for Firefox and Chrome.  For IE I did it in Control Panel 'Set your default programs'.  Make your browser (whichever one(s)) launch a putty connection to whatever IP when you enter ssh://192.168.1.1, and if that works, then the links off of your SolarWinds pages (or any page with ssh://someip) will yield same results.

Just configure SSH:// to use putty.  Similar exercise if you were using telnet and/ or Tektia/ some other utility.

those links are part of the Engineer's Toolset integration. If you don't have Engineer's Toolset installed you will not be able to use those options. However, if you only want to use SSH, please refer to jeff's comment about how to enable SSH.
