SQL Server Logs

Question

My SQL server is generating the message below. I'm not an SQL server guy and don't have one handy so I'm hoping someone here can help me find "The Log" so I can figure out to give it some more space.

Thanks. I suspect we have different versions (I'm on 2000) but I think I found the right area.

The file is on a drive that has 360GB free which is why I don't understand there errors. The transaction log has 460 MB allocated and is allowed to grow by 10% with no maximum and is currently at 517 MB.

This message shows up every few days and I'm wondering if it's just telling me that he maxed out the previous size and is incrementing.

Are you confident that "The Log" referred to in the message is the transaction log? I do Cisco IOS much better than I do SQL server so "The Log" was a little vague for me. :-)

Hi Dave,

Open SQL Server Management Studio. Expand Databases. Right-Click on your NetPerfMon database name.

Select Properties. Select the Files page on the left panel.

The Path and FileName fields will tell you where is the Transaction log file located.
