adding export ability of reports in excel, pdf, csv etc. format from the web

One of the questions I keep getting asked from web users of Orion within our organization is whether we will ever having report exporting ability from the web console? Does Solarwinds have any plans to implement that? Another question I keep getting is the ability to generate reports with various time frames from the web console. Currently that ability exists in Report writer, but the web -based reports time frames are pre-defined and cannot be altered. Are there any plans to look into that aspect in future releases?

I'd also like to see the same using Report Scheduler, pdf & excel especially. I'd also like to see Report Scheduler add an option to generate the report as an attachment to an email rather than embedded email text.

All information in the Orion web "console" is exportable in Excel format on any PC with Microsoft Office installed.
Simply right click anywhere in the table of the information you wish to export & select "export to Microsoft Excel".

Note; filtered tables will be exported as unfiltered data I.E. filtered syslogs, events & alerts.

The data is exportable, but in my experience it is importing into Excel 2007 in a very weird way. The dates all look like numbers, if you sit on the cell, you see the data. For example in the column you will see 39569 but if I sit on that cell in the bar where it shows the data and formulas I see 5/1/2008. No matter how I try to format it, the data still displays as a seeming number rather than a date.

I am required to provide reports from Excel to show trending and this would really save me a ton of time AND impress the VP (who controls how much I can spend!).

Hello all,

here is what I did to export reports in excel from the Orion Report Scheduler -

Just attach the identifier " &DataFormat=Excel" to the end of your report url, it will export the report in excel...

unfortunately no PDF attachement will be generated, only a link. Once, you click the resulting link in the email a downloadable file in excel will appear.

Just thought I would post in case ithis information could help someone else?
