We're trying to find something that gives queue depth, etc.
Sorry but I'm a Cisco geek and not a Microsoft Geek...
Don
I don't believe there is any. I'd go dig around in the microsoft(news.microsoft.com) newsgroups(microsoft.pubic.exchange.admin), the guys there are pretty helpful and maybe able to come up with an alternative to monitoring queue depth.
Jason
This is exactly what I was looking for as well.
Please post if you find anything.
I found a place that seems to make a program called SNMP HELPER that reads the Microsoft info and then makes it available via SNMP
http://www.paessler.com/
Anyone tried this?
We tried something similier, SNMP Informant I think. The disappointing part of it was that the MIBs were included in Solarwinds, but anything meaningful always seemed to be in a table, which Solarwinds can't read.
Anyone found anything how to do it with solarwinds. is there OID we can give to Solarwinds for them to compile it so they respond?
Microsoft provides only minimal support for SNMP. Instead, they publish their management statistics to WMI. As mentioned above, you might try to use a tool like SNMP Informant to convert WMI to SNMP and then use the custom poller. Our Applicaiton Performance Monitor monitors more of Exchange than NPM. In APM 2.0, we'll be able to poll any WMI performance counter, which will get exactly what you need.
