How do I change the names in the "All Nodes" widget on the Summary Page?

This is defaulted to Vendor and Status so I see:

Unknown

Cisco

Windows

How do I change this so my Group names are in here? For example I made a group "California" and placed all nodes in there which are located in California. How do I place this group in the "All Nodes" section?

Thank you for the feedback everyone. I was able to figure it out with the custom properties. For those who will read this and need specifics such as myself, this is what I did:

1) go to:

Settings\All settings\Manage Custom Properties

2) Click "ADD CUSTOM PROPERTY"

3) In the next window I left the object type as Nodes since this is what I wanted to see and then clicked "NEXT"

4) Next page I inputted a "Property Name" and "Description" so in my case the property name was "USA_State" and description was "USA state location of node." I left everything else at default and clicked "NEXT"

5) In the next window I added all the nodes located in California and clicked "SUBMIT"

6) Back at the "Manage Custom Properties" window I checked the box (it may already be checked) next to my new custom property and clicked "VIEW/EDIT VALUES"

7) In the next window I saw my nodes and a column with "USA_State." I populated "California" in all the cell boxes in that column for all the nodes that are located in California then I saved my changes. Click "SAVE CHANGES" on the bottom-right.

Now you go to your home summary page

1) In the "All Nodes" widget I clicked the "EDIT" link

2) In the next window I chose the "Grouping Nodes" for USA_State, Vendor, Status then clicked "SUBMIT"

Now my "All Nodes" widget shows "California" and when I expand this, all the nodes I added in "Manage Custom Properties" in "California" shows up. This is what I wanted and thank you again to everyone who assisted.

There are a few different widgets that get you this information, but for nodes you can usually click on edit on the top right of the widget itself and set the grouping settings there. Likely it is just Vendor and then Status for your view.

You can change it to location first or any other property/custom property that is set.

With the node widget I don't see a way to put the groups that you've created in there directly, but there is another widget for All Groups if you'd like to see the groups directly instead.

Hi kange0010 sadly this is a big misconception of Groups. They can't be used for filtering in that way, and as such the 'All Nodes' widget doesn't allow filtering by Groups. There is a separate widget named 'All Groups'. which will give you a similar view, but there are two alternative options:

1) You can edit the 'All Nodes' widget and filter by Location (Gathered by SNMP Data) - This method isn't as accurate as it depends on the SNMP Configuration

2) Set a custom property called Site, Country, Address etc and populate that with the same information. Then you can filter by that custom property in the All Nodes widget as well as many other places.

I would always recommend Option 2 as it lets you leverage the power of custom properties for everything else within Orion including reports, alerts etc. Also, you can edit the existing groups and add a dynamic query which adds nodes based on the custom property. That means you can still use the Groups for other purposes such as availability etc, without having to update two different places.
