Monitoring Nortel Passport 7480

Question

Hi,

Has anyone used Orion to monitor Notel Passport 7480. One of my basic question is do Orion support Nortel Passport SNMP?.. I have two links and 3 PRI circuits terminated on this and I need to Monitor the availability and bandwidth utilization on these circuits.

I'm checking with Nortel to see if they use standard or custom MIBs.  But as this is pretty old I was wondering if anyone has any more current information or success in doing this.  I have a Passport 7440 with a DS3 card and an Ethernet card, would love to be able to get utilization stats as now I can only see status if the interface is up or down.

Hello Rajendra,

If the Nortel Passport 7480 uses standard mibs to express its interface data then yes you will be able to view the availability and utilization on your circuits.

If the Nortel uses custom mibs then no.

BTW if you want to know what the 'standard' mib is for interfaces:
OID: 1.3.6.1.2.1.2
