Hello.
Since upgrading to NPM 10.2.2, I can no longer find the utility that backups and restores the web console configuration. Can someone point me to its new location?
Thanks in advance.
Is it not located here for you: C:\Program Files\SolarWinds\Orion\OrionWebBackup.exe ?
Found it. Yep, it's located there.
I've never accessed it from that location. I usually select it from the Start Menu.
Thanks again.
purdue98,
The Web Console is now backed up in the Orion database. As long as you keep a backup of the database - it will hold all of the configurations for the Web Console.
The following are exceptions:
- Custom modified files (e.g. using Notepad to recode some of the files)
- Custom images (e.g. banner, etc.)
- Hotfixes (that require updating files in C:\Inetpub\SolarWinds)
For now, just backup the Web Console directory (default - C:\Inetpub\SolarWinds) and do a backup of the Orion database.
To build a Web Console from the database, you can stop the World Wide Web service from services.msc [Start > Run > services.msc]
And rename C:\Inetpub\SolarWinds to C:\Inetpub\SolarWinds.old
Run the Configuration Wizard against "website" option, and it will rebuild the Web Console in exception to the 2 that I had stated above.
Hope that clarifies.
