Custom view login issue

I've created a new user, and a custom menu bar called "Dashboard" that displays a few custom summary views that I've created. The problem is that when I login to the Orion website with the user and click on one of the custom views, it directs me back to a login page. Once I login again (with the same user/pass) then It goes to the view. When I added built-in menu bar items I was able to go to those pages without logging in again. I don't have any view limitations created.

Any ideas?

Nevermind... I found the problem. Turns out that if I changed my custom menu bar item URL from the IP address to the hostname, then it works fine. Can someone who knows more about IIS explain why that is?

I'm guessing it's the session cookie that can't tell that the IP address and the hostname are one and the same. Therefore, new session cookie is created and prompts you for your login credentials. As you've discovered, specifying the hostname from here on out is one solution. Another would be to specify relative path URLs (e.g. /dashboard) as opposed to absolute path URLs (i.e. http://orion/dashboard or http://127.0.0.1/dashboard).
