High Availability Multiple NIC

Hi,

Have any one already set up a High Availability, pool with 2 shared IPS??

My challenge is to set up a High Availability, pool for servers that use tow NICs each one is used to poll a network sub-net, there is only one form field for shared IP and upon pool creation thet is no way to edit it only Force Failover or Delete the pool available under Pool Commands.

Please advice if some one tried this.

The VIP IP address is not used for polling, but for incoming connections to the Orion web interface, so that users don't need to know which server is active. The "real" IP address assigned to the physical NIC will remain unchanged regardless of which pool member is active.

After the HA pool creation there is a notification to remember changing configured server address on nodes to the shared virtual IP, also in the case nodes want to be configured to send snmp traps if there is tow IPs configured maybe the syslog messages will be duplicated!!

Negative. The syslog/traps would not be duplicated unless you configured devices to send to both the real/physical IP address of the server, as well as the VIP. If you configured your devices to send to both physical/real IP addresses of each member of the pool then duplication is not possible.

Hi,

Do you mean if nodes are configured to send to both physical IP, duplication will not occurs? and only in the case where VIP address is configured in additional on one or both physical then messages will be duplicated?? the new HA features is not well documented and the working mechanism still under discovery!!
