We have tried several versions of SolarWinds however, one thing I noticed is that starting version 9.1 onwards, when a system has several nodes or interfaces or rather elements monitored, the connection of the poller via system manager slows down. Errors like stopping "***.....stopping in an untimely manner" is always seen when a configuration wizard finished. Yes it may not affect the system as per Solarwinds Technical Support but, this should be resolved. Would like to raise that after 9.1, the service slow down was seen. Even though this was an improvement on the current applications, I hope something should be done with this. Have seen that error after upgrading the 9.5 sp4 also. This can only be seen with setups with high number of nodes or interfaces or volumes. Again, this was only seen by our team when we started to migrate from 8.5.1 to 9.1. Raised this case already but, database server was always the problem as per technical support. I guess there might be something we can do with the development. Though its not appropriate to compare the 8.5.1 to 9.5, I do hope that services of solarwinds should not be compromised in the enhancement of product in terms of improving its visual / appearance. Graphics are good but this could be not appreciated if the solarwinds cannot connect to the poller to monitor devices.
