Test Firing Advanced Alerts in 8.0.1

Question

I can't seem to find how to test advanced alerts.  All the alerts listed for testing are my basic alerts.

The reason I need to test the alert is that I'm getting email from myself instead of the name I listed in the action.  I listed 'Orion Alert Manager' with a return address of nobody@nobody.com.

So now if have two issues.. 
- emails from the wrong address
- can't test advanced alerts

Any help would be highly appreciated!

Bryan,

The advanced alerts are stored in the DB and are database-driven. You need to use advanced alerts to do what you want to do.

Thanks Denny.  I do have a follow up.  In a distributed environment like ours were we have remote pollers I see the same advanced alerts on each poller but the basic alerts do not show up.  I have to recreate those.   Is that a bug or the way it's suppose to be?  I wonder if all my alerts should be set up as advanced so I don't have to recreate them on each poller.

David is saying that we the "test fire alerts" feature that we have for Basic Alerts is not present for Advanced Alerts.  We are adding it.
