Replacement for "Net send" in Vista?

I need to send a popup alert to some admin pc's. Some of them are running Vista that doesn't support "Net Send" (thanks MS). A suggested alternative is to use msg (though you have to make a regedit on a vista box) but thats not directly available as an Alert action (feature request for Orion V9.5?). Has anyone constructed a batch file or vb script to do this or have an alternative work round?

this might be worth looking into - supposedly works with Vista - it uses TCP and not NetBios
