Can the device status colour be changed when a threshold is exceeded and not just when it goes down.

NPM is very good at indicating when a device goes down by changing the colours from gree, to amber to red. We have set up a lot of inter dependent groups so we can see what business areas are affected by a particular node going down.

What would really be benficial if the colour inidcator could change if a threshold is exceeded. For example if disk utilisation goes above 95% then the node icon will change to amber and so on.

Is this possible ?

Damian,

I believe if you have the node on a map, you'd see an indicator when a sub-component of a system has crossed a threshold as in the picture below. Is this what you're looking for?

That is certainly getting closer - As I have a lot of nodes though ideally I would like to create a MAP for each, business area and have that nested. The problem here is that when you nest the map will only show on the top level the Up/Down status on the alert.

You can get the same subcomponent status on a nested map. If you log in with admin rights and look on the admin page under the Settings section, select Web Console Settings. The 6th item down under web console settings is the Status Rollup Mode. If you set it to Mixed Status shows Warning, you'll get the sub component status to show up on a nested map. Hope this helps!
