Orion New version installation

Question

Orion NPM is installed on a new W3K server with version 8.02. We restaured the SQL database of Orion 8.01 onto another SQL 2000 server.

I started SolarWinds Orion Configuration Wizard from Orion 8.02 and point to the new database successfully but I cannot see all nodes in Orion that were configured in the database!

I don't want to add all nodes manually, that's why we transfered database. Once connected to the database, we should be able to see all nodes! Any idea?

The load balancer tool is only meant to choose which nodes are polled by which polling engine.
It is not meant as a migration tool. other than to change the polling engine ID in the DB if you move the Orion  installation to a new server.

Ok, currently, Orion and all nodes are on an server in a Windows Domain A (production), we backed up the database from an SQL server in Domain A and restored it to an SQL server in Domain B (test).

So we are doing test to see if everything will be alright when migration will occur. Currently, we do not want to change anything on the server on which Orion is installed in production domain.

If we want to do a test, can we run the Polling Engine Load Balancer tool without disturbing nodes in production domain?

In fact question is: Do you recommend running Polling Engine Load Balancer tool to add nodes to system manager in domain B? After our tests, Orion will be install on a new server in domain A.

So maybe that it is more preferable that we wait to reinstall Orion on the new server in domain A and use Polling Engine Load Balancer tool at that time?
