Down Node Alert on Network Summary Page

Hi All,

 

I once setup a custom down node feature from one of the contributors on here and can't seem to find it anymore. This customization would show the Down nodes on the network summary page and it was a editable custom variable that let an admin put a description in the field showing who was working on the issue and when it was resolved the node would be back up and no longer show on the summary page as down. I've searched and searched and can't find the instructions on how to do this does someone know what I'm talking about and have the information on setting this up? Thanks!

If I were going to do this, I would build a custom property to store the notes about the node.  Then, I would put a resource on the Node Details page for 'Edit Custom Node Property' (under Miscellaneous) and then edit the resource and title it something like 'Notes'.  Once you have that, you can build a report that lists your nodes and their status along with that custom property field.  Filter the report to only nodes in a 'down' status.  When you finish with that, open your Home (Summary) page and add a resource for 'Report from Orion Report Writer' (under Report Writer group) and then edit the resource on the page and choose the report you just built.  This should do exactly what you just described. 

There may be another way to do it, but this gives you a methodology of updating the notes from the Node Details page.
