Polling engine not restarting

Question

I have noticed recently when that when I restart services in Orion Service manager the polling engine status does not change.

If I open the "monitor polling engines" interface  there is a colum that says ENGINE STARTED the time and date that is reflected is from a few days back. Usually this will change to the most current time and date since a restart.  The Database Syncs are fine, and I also ran the configuration wizard for a repair. Any ideas what may be causing this?

The Engine Started time and date stamp only apply to active pollers. Is the poller you are referring to a primary poller or a hot-standby.  If it is a hot-standby, it will not update that field until the hot-standby becomes an active poller.

If it updated in the past, it may be due to the fact the hotstandby became active just long enough before the primary came back online during the reboot.

When you open a support ticket, be sure to run diagnostics on Orion NPM first.

Here's how, if you don't already know:1.  Click Start>SolarWinds Orion>Documentation and Support>Orion Diagnostics.2.  Click Start. 3.  Name the file in the Save As window. The Diagnostics program runs.4.   Open a support ticket here. You won't be able to attach the diagnostics file to the online form, but you'll receive a follow-up email that allows you to attach it then.
