Trend Analysis - How is it done in Orion?

Hi guys,

Any of the Solarwinds Team folks could explain a little bit about how is trend analysis being done in Orion 9.5 SP2 with the new feature "Trend Lines"?

Customers keep asking how is this done, is this a industry standard way to calculate or estimate trends? Which? Is this a solarwinds propietary way?

Any knowledge would be greatly appreciated.
