Migration from Big brother to solarwinds?

Has anyone migrated from big brother to Solarwinds NPM, APM?

Specifically big brother on Solaris 8, 9 and 10, and Free BSD 4.x, and wintel boxes?

I am currently thinking I need to build thousands of universal pollers and syslog parsing rules…. there appears to be big brother agents on the BSD and Sun boxes which run UNIX commands and depending on the result, they send the DATA to the technical service desk who log an incident which is passed to the technical team who deals with the technology...

my thought would be that i should be able to do this with SNMP custom pollers, but I am doubtful i can do everything.

so anyone else done this and any advice?
