Wireless Management on Cisco 1230's
joesim
I have contacted Cisco regarding the fact that the 1230BG AP's MIB doesn't have a signal quality indicator. They seemed to play dumb about my questioning...and didn't really give an answer as to why.
I also asked why the signal strength when viewed from the 802.11 MIB on the AP (What Solarwinds looks at) was dramatically different from what the client itself reports.
For instance, Solarwinds wireless mgmt pack indicates a weak signal quality of -83dBm for a client. I understand this is measured from the AP to the client. At the same time, that same client reports an excellent signal strength of -62dBm. I asked Cisco how these two measurements could be so dramatically differnet. They have yet to respond.
Can anyone else help shed some technical light on this subject.
