While configuring alerts, our system is extremely slow. The pages take a while to refresh. It seems that when you drill down or edit it can take considerable amounts of time.

no we are not using netflow.
Could you check if your database is not overloaded? Start > run > perfmon + ok.
Also, Could you review the Windows Events on the Orion server to see if there is anything wrong?
Start > run > eventvwr +ok.
The Alert Configuration Front-End basically read and writes in the database the settings of the alerts, so it leads me to think that it is having issues communicating with the database.
