SW VM Can't Poll The VmWare Host it is on

I am having an issue I can't seem to get to the bottom of.  I have a solarwinds VM and it can poll/ping everything on the network including all VMWare hosts EXCEPT the host it is currently on.  If i move the VM to another host, that host becomes unreachable from the Solarwinds server.  The host routes are all proper as well as the routes in Windows on the Solarwinds server.  It is simply that whatever host the SW vm is on can't be reached by SW.  Any ideas or advice is appreciated.

Here is an update. Upon poking around some more I have found that I cannot ping any local VM if it is on the same subnet as the host.  So for example, if all of my vmware hosts are on 192.168.50.X then here is the scenario:

HostA - 192.168.50.100

VM1 - 192.168.50.32     CANNOT ping from HostA

VM2 - 198.168.50.41     CANNOT PING from HostA

VM3 - 192.168.30.102   CAN ping from HostA

All that said, I will take this to the VMWare forums.

No fix immediately jumping to mind, but I can confirm this isnt a problem in our environment and so shouldnt be an inherent problem
