Trouble monitoring links

Question

I would like to setup a alert for connections between two machines that are on completely separate networks from  each other, as well as completely separate networks from the Orion/NPM server.  Is this possible, and if so, where do I begin.  I want to be able to alert on packet loss between these devices.  Any help would be much appreciated.

I do already have Netpath setup, but now I am not sure how to receive alerts for ping drops for that specific link.

With NPM you can deploy a Netpath probe at one side of the link and have it monitor between them, if you have SAM you could set up a scripted solution as well.

Hi d09h,

Both devices I'm trying to monitor are Windows PC or Server, and we do not have the VNQM module.  Is there no other way to receive alerts if ping drops are detected between these two specific end points?
