Some Original/Canned Alerts do not reset correctly - Reboot, IOS Change

I have two alerts that came "out of the box" that are used against Node Reboot and Node IOS Has Changed.

The alert does not have a reset trigger configured. The check box is "rest after n Minutes". NEITHER of the alerts reset.

Also, I do not have a reset ACTION configured. Why would one if it is merely a Notification Alert. One does not reset from a REBOOT! The same would be trued form an IOS Change. One cannot reset from that.

I would expect that the alert would trigger and then, after a prescribed time, auto-reset.

Am I wrong?

For a long time I have had difficulty with the alerts that are supposed to reset based on time. Sometimes they work, sometimes they don't, very annoying. Not specific to those out of the box ones, also affects my own alerts.

I agree with you.

I only mentioned the OOB ones for simplicity's sake. I have the same issue with a lot of alerts.

At one time 10 years ago, I was even instructed by SW to stop and restart the alert service! Of course that worked just fine until the next time....

I hope SW and others reply to this post.

At version 2020.2, the problem still exists.

I would think that the alert would reset after the specified time.

Is it possible to have DEV actually reply to this?
