Is there a way to not have NPM alert on interfaces that have physical GBIC's (1G/10G) installed but not connected and administratively shutdown. I can understand if an active link is down but it should alarm when the interface is shutdown?
Anyone see this?
Hi, this is caused by HW health sensor that is connected to the interface status. there may be some problem with sensor reporting critical value that impacting Interface status too. It's a known problem, see this discussion: http://thwack.solarwinds.com/message/198389#198389
Our 10.5 Beta 3 has an option to remove this dependency.
