Our NPM installation over the last year has grown more than I expected and we are now relying on it heavily and its near capacity. We can't afford an additional poller this year and my job load is 3408 and these are my stats:
| Elements | 15984 |
| Network Node Elements | 957 |
| Volume Elements | 1782 |
| Interface Elements | 13245 |
| Polling Rate | 125% of its maximum rate. Polling intervals increase if the polling rate exceeds 100% of the maximum rate. Add Poller » Learn more |
I've added many Cisco devices over this last year and I'm wondering how I can tune those monitors to allow the best performance for my single poller. I'm wondering if I can remove less important interfaces from monitoring completely? Change the polling intervals on certain port/interfaces. Has anyone done this or can give me some advice on how to proceed with tuning for these Cisco interfaces?
