Custom Chart appearance question

This question is mainly about aesthetics, not function. I have Custom Chart for Internet bandwidth. The data sources shown at the bottom of the chart show the full interface name (switch/node name + Ethernet port). I have tried using the "Carrier Name" option as the Alias (Edit Interface-custom properties-CarrierName), but there doesn't appear to be a way to use the Alias instead of the full interface name. Maybe this is a feature request, but for a custom view "summary" of a specific office/site I wanted to simplify this to just show the specific alias or carrier name. Is there any way to do this (NPM 12.4)? Thanks!

Hi,

You can just edit the interface and update the name of interface as you want and then save.

Of course, that's absolutely true. I was just thinking that I'd like to preserve the true name (location of switch port) for diagnostic purposes, but simplify the description just in Charts using the carrier name alias. I'm not sure what else that alias is really good for if you can only see it after already drilled down into the interface properties.
