has anyone install Toolset on your Orion server?

i have an extra copy of Eng Toolset to install and was thinking of installing it on the Orion server since SQL is running on another server. has anyone installed Eng Toolset in this scenario?

I was thinking it would be a good backup monitoring method for if/when the Orion System Manager and/or SQL server might be down...plus it would provide the Real-Time Bandwidth Monitor for when I may need that feature.

BUT i didn't know if there's something within Eng Toolset's installation which might overwrite or interfere with installing on the same machine as Orion.

All I did was to add to my Network Summary Home view the Custom HTML link resource. Under that resource I added a link to the directory and default.htm file.

Example.

The directory I created for my IP Address Management auto publish was "IPManage" so my address for my link is "http://(Orion Server)/IPManage/default.htm

I am currently running the same installation NPM on one server and the SQL database housed on another. I have installed the Engineer's toolset on the Orion server and have not had any issues with it running.

If you want an added extra.

I run the IP Address Management application on my Orion server. I setup all my IP subnets in the application, set the option "auto-publish to the web", and have it send to a directory under my Orion website. This provides security to the IP address management info, plus give an easy way to access an IP scan.

One thing I forgot.

The Eng. toolset will overwrite the MIB.cfg file in the %Program fIles%\solarwinds\common directory, which is used by both Orion and the toolset. Make sure to get a backup of the file, or even better get a recent copy from the Customer Downloads section on the SolarWinds website.

by the way - does Orion automatically see where the IP MANAGEMENT htm file can be found or did you custom html it?
