equipment not in the existing mib database.

hi,

new user, so please bear with me!

i want to be able to monitor the health of our alcatel equipment using orion.

adding a new node only yields the information about its interfaces ... i have forwarded the mibs for the alcatel equipment we are using and particular software version we have deployed to solarwinds to request they be added to the mib database.

if they get added will the health options mysteriously appear under the 'list resources' dialogue box so i can choose them?

edit: after doing a search on here it seems im not the only one who wants/needs custom mibs. oh well, at least *another* request for this has gone into support@solarwinds.net !!!

You are correct Andy, it's in the works...

The custom MIB you submitted is for the Solarwinds Toolset App MIB Databse.
Orion does not use this DB, but uses a fixed set of MIBS to poll all devices.
