We have servers with multiple IP address (NICs) on them. [ HyperVisor servers].. What is the best way to track them all HOPEFULLLY without creating redundant entries.
You can use autodiscovery and Orion will reconcile by system name and show you the multiple interfaces on the node view. In web console settings you should choose the interface node status rollup so you will see when one of the interface fails from high level views.
Can I do a subset to test what I will get.. say i know i have xyzm, abc servers that have this going on.. can I just discover those.. or range of IP's ?
I would hate to do a total discovery and have to roll back the database becuse it is giving weird results..
Sure. Do a subnet discovery and limit the IP range so it will only find 1 or 2 servers.
would the recommended autodiscovery work if the server spans multiple sub-nets? (example: Nic 1 on vlan x, and Nic2 on vlan y)
