Upgrade error from Orion 8.5.1 SP1 to SP3

Hi guys, I am getting an error when trying to run the SP3 update.exe to my Orion installation. Once the services have been stopped, the install throws up the following text:

Installing ASP.NET AJAX Extensions
ASP.NET AJAX Extensions installation complete
Copying files to C:\Program Files\Solarwinds\Orion\
Error: Unable to copy files to install directory. (Error Code: 4)

The system cannot find the file specified.

Does anyone have any thoughts on this?

These are the steps I have taken so far (but with no joy).

1) Reinstalling Orion making sure everything is in the default directory

2) Ensured Domain Admins have Full Control on the C drive for installation

3) Stopped all Solarwinds Services

4) Closed Orion Service Manager

Can anyone help me please?

I too am having the exact same problem. Called Solarwinds tech support and they are trying to find out why. Did you ever get this problem resolved?

Ok - try the following.

- Log in as Local Administrator on the server. Make sure you are logged
in as local administrator, not a Domain Admin.

- Go to Start -> Programs ->Solarwinds Orion -> Orion Service
Manager.

- Go to File -> Stop Everything, and wait until all services have
stopped.

- Run the Service Pack 3 install.

- When the install completes, in Orion Service Manager, make sure all
services are started. Right-click and start any services that might take their
time.

- Run the Configuration Wizard. (start -> Programs -> Solarwinds
Orion -> Configuration Wizard).
