Dell OpenManage and Orion

Can Orion monitor SNMP information that are available on Dell PowerEdge servers? Currently we have Dell's OpenManage that comes with the Dell servers. I'd like to just use Orion but I'm not sure how to proceed. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

No, we alreayd own Orion. I use it everyday. I'm just wondering if it has the ability to use the Dell MIBs to monitor things such as CPU Temp., etc. Sorry if I didn't explain myself too well. Thanks for any help.

Orion was designed mainly for network devices with server support added about a year ago.
As such it is designed to poll only 3 types of MIBs. Node, Volume and Interface.
So you are limited to the following - CPU, memory, disk & interface utilization. You require another product such as Engineers Edition to monitor custom MIBs such as CPU temp. etc.

has there been any change to this as Solarwinds now supports other MIB's? We also have Openmanage on our servers but would like to use Solarwinds to report on SNMP events such as raid failure?

Solarwinds Orion v8 which is presently in beta has custom MIB support. I have it running now and am monitoring my Dell PowerEdge server's temperature, RAID Controller, fan, power supply, voltage and memory status. So hang in there, it's comming.

What is it you are wanting to know exactly. This thread is four years old and a lot has changed since then. If the device responds to SNMP requests then Orion can manage it.

yea probably should have startred a new thread. I am wanting to use the dell open manager mibs and receive the snmp info in orion 9.1
