Custom poller problems
skaczkowski
All,
I'm playing around with custom MIB pollers on our 8.0.2 install and am getting some strange results and wanted to know if anyone has any insight. The first poller I created was one that monitors the temperature status on one of our 6500's, the OID is: 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.13.1.3.1.3 and when I run a test on this OID it comes back with about 24 (for 24c) which is right. But when I create and assign this poller I get strange, or no results in my graphs. If I use the RATE MIB value type and look at the raw data I'll get numbers like: .423487398712394702348794 and my graphs are just little bumps sitting at around zero. If I change the value type to COUNTER I'll get zeros in the data. There also seems to be gaps in the data, is it missing polls for some reason? No other chart is missing data, and I can't see this box being taxed yet..
I also get the same kind of results if I create a poller for anything else like VPN session count, or active DS0 sessions..
So what gives? Seems to me the custom poller is broken in some way, I did notice a patch for 8.0.1, is this the same problem?
Thanks!
-Steve
