SNMPv2c to v3 conversion

Hi all,

I've been tasked with converting all of our nodes to send snmp messages via version 3.  Everything in our environment is currently set to snmpv2c for our polling method in NPM.

Is there a way I can change the polling method to snmpv3 for multiple nodes at once or will I have to go into each node one by one manually to make the change?

If you are confident the devices have been correctly configured for SNMPv3 and they all use the same credentials, then you can use the Manage Nodes screen to select multiple devices at once and click on "Edit Properties". This will then let you go down and change the polling details for all the Nodes at once. You won't be able to test using this method, thus the part about making sure your confident.

If you run a discovery against the involved nodes you can verify SNMP credentials work.  No need to add them again.  Just exit the discovery wizard.

I'm not 100% sure, but if you go in Manage Nodes, select multiple nodes > Edit properties

You should now be editing all those node, so you can try to click on the checkbox Polling Method and change it for SNMPV3. But all your device will need the same creds for snmpv3
