Unable to add APE to Performance Analysis Project

I can add the MPE ad all HA servers plus AWS servers to a Project. But not the APE. The APE are the active pollers. IS this a limitation of the module. Do I need to switch the Active Polling Engine to the HA servers then add the APE servers to the PErf Stack project?
