Interfaces become unknown after reboot

Question

I'm running NPM 8.51 and a few device reboots recently have left me with interfaces that became unknown (even though they're still installed). So far, I've been deleting them and re-adding, but I'd like to be able to keep the historical data for these interfaces. I've got 'snmp-server ifindex persist' on all devices. Would it be possible to get the new interface ID and change it in the database?

I'm afraid the fix is included in 9.x.  As part of keeping our cost and prices reasonable, we are rarely able to provide fixes to back-level versions.

Is there any solution for 8.51? Unfortunately, our maintenance contract expired last June and I'm not sure if we'll be able to renew it any time soon.
