Database Scaling

How do you determine that ammount of disk space the database needs? For example, if I want to collect data on 100 nodes, each with 100 custom MIB pollers in addition to the MIB-2 Host Resources information, how do I know how big the database could grow, with the default settings already in place, and how many more similar nodes I can add?
