All,
Having struggled with my installation for a very long time, I thought it might be a good idea to take a look at what's really going on in there. Installing a sniffer with Expert module from WildPackets revealed that I have an issue with the communication towards the SQL server (which is on a different machine).
The sniffer claims that I have a bunch of these:
SQL Server Slow Response
Low Server-to-Client Throughput
Busy Network or Server
I have checked the NICs and the switch that connects them, and there is nothing. NIC drivers have been upgraded etc. Now, Microsoft states that this might be a symptom of too many databases in an instance: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/889696
But AFAIK - there is only one database (Netperfmon)? Anyone got a clue here?
