Custom Reports
BakerD
I have setup some custom reports and I have run into something I am not sure how to do or even if it can be done. I did a Server Availability report and it shows the average availability over the last 30 days. It is broken down by office and also grouped that way which I did by using fields I created in custom properties. Now what I would like to do is sum all the servers in an office and get an average percentage value which I can then have an Average Availability of a whole office and compare my other offices.
Can any help and if so, try and be as specific as you can, I just started working with the report writer today and don't know a lot about it.
Sample:
..........Node.........Average Availability
-------------------------------------------
Office A
..........Server1.............99.80%
..........Server2.............99.99%
..........Server3.............97.00%
-------------------------------------------
Office Average................98.93%
.
Office B
..........Server1.............98.00%
..........Server2.............99.00%
..........Server3............100.00%
-------------------------------------------
Office Average................99.00%
And so on............
Dots were put in just to help with formatting on this post.
Thanks

I'd suggest you create a separate report for each Office location.
Create a filter for each Office, based on the Office name and server name (create a custom property for the servers,
if necessary, using the custom property editor).
Under select fields, create a single entry for "Field - availability - sort * Function: average"
This will then sum up all the filtered objects into one total for that Office.

Great, thanks, that is doing what I want in a way. It would have been nice to have it all on one sheet, but at least I have it.
This brings up another question though. If my link to an office goes down, then that is going to affect the availability percentages of the servers in that office correct? I am guessing it would since if the link was down, NPM would not know if the server was still up or not and would look down do it.
