Couldn't find a description anywhere on the website, but you can buy it for $6995, very strange.

I called and asked about this one, it seems it is another poller that watches the SQL tables for changes. If no changes are noticed, then it assumes the poller has died and takes over. It is not a load balanced poller, it stays inactive till it feels that the other poller is dead.

At least that is how it was explained to me. Or I could be totally confused.

My guess is that it provides a hot standby of the primary Orion services. If the boss Orion server goes down the hot standby takes over the load so you don't get kicked in the teeth by management when your Orion box fails while several other critical devices fail and you never get an alert so you keep drinking beer to try to forget how much you hate management.

This is just speculation of course.
