Is NPM 9.1 SL 2000 compatible with SQL 2008 64 bit R2?
I'd like to ideally run 9.1 on a Windows/SQL 2008 64 bit R2 VM.
Thanks
9.1 Not Supported for SQL 2008
You need 10.0.0 or 10.1.1 SP1
The following requirement notes are in addition to those requirements currently published in the SolarWinds Orion Network Performance Monitor documentation set, including the Administrator, Quick Start, and Evaluation Guides:
If you currently have Orion NPM version 9.0 through 9.5.1, you must upgrade to version 10.0 before upgrading to the current version.
Thanks, can you also post the requirements for 9.1?
Operating System
Windows Server 2003 (32-bit or 64-bit) including R2, with IIS installed, running in 32-bit mode. SolarWinds recommends that Orion NPM administrators have local administrator privileges to ensure full functionality of local Orion NPM tools. Users limited to the web console do not require administrator privileges.
Note: SolarWinds does not support installation of Orion NPM on Windows XP in production environments. If you are installing Orion NPM on Windows XP, you must confirm that Shared Memory, Named Pipes, and TCP/IP are enabled on remote databases.
Web Server
Microsoft IIS version 6.0 and later. DNS specifications require that hostnames be composed of alphanumeric characters (A-Z, 0-9), the minus sign (-), and periods (.). Underscore characters (_) are not allowed. For more information, see RFC 952.
Note: SolarWinds neither recommends nor supports the installation of Orion NPM on the same server or using the same database server as a Research in Motion (RIM) Blackberry server.
.NET Framework Version 3.5 or later
SQL Server 2000 SP4, Standard or Enterprise
SQL Server 2005 Express, Standard, or Enterprise
Database must support mixed-mode or SQL authentication.
Note: SQL Express is unable to manage databases larger than 4GB. It is limited to a single processor and will use no more than 1GB RAM. Use a SQL Server instance for larger networks requiring larger databases.
