Can I know the order of installation of Solarwinds Modules I have VNQM,IPAM,NPM,IVIM,QOE and NTA what needs to be installed first on my orion server?
And do we require individual licenses to monitor the elements for each module?
Soumya t,
If you are performing a new installation of the latest version of each application, it will not really matter which order you employ, but most users will start with NPM. Hopefully, you have configured a separate server for the NTA flow storage database. If so, you should install the database portion of NTA on that server first using the same executable that you will use to install the NTA application on your polling server. Then, proceed with the other installs (NPM, NTA, IPAM, VNQM) after that. IVIM and QoE are part of the Orion platform and will be installed when you install NPM.
I hope that helps you, but be sure to ask other questions if you have them.
Thanks Borgan..
So what I understood from your reply is that NPM is the module which is preferable to install first and then followed by the remaining modules .
Does the upgradation also follows the same order as installation?
Yes, that is correct. The only real rule is that you cannot install NTA before you install NPM. So, start with NPM and proceed with the others in any order.
