Removing SNMP Community String from Traps Display

How can I remove the SNMP community string from displaing on the web page? I can remove it from the trap viewer but not from the web page. This is a security issue for me. I would like the help desk to see when a security violation occurs on the switchport but I don't want them to see the community string.

I have exactly the same problem, only I'm looking at it from NCM's perspective as well. I want to be able to obscure the community string from all NPM applications that might display it via the web ui.

Even more importantly, I want to be able to obscure community strings and passwords from configurations stored by NCM. I don't even want to provide the usernames if any that might be stored in the router configurations. This is especially important where I don't always completely control whether or not a customer stores local users on the devices, but I have to manage it anyway, and control access for a large support organization.

Where on the web page is it displayed?

When you select one of the hosts from "Traps Summary" it opens "Traps From All Network Devices - Today". In this window the following is shown:

Time of Trap	IP Address	Caption	Community	Trap Type	Trap Details

I just tested this on our Orion 8.51 system. If the user has Admin rights then they will be able to see the SNMP string - otherwise it should'nt be displayed.

I tested a non-admin user an clicked on Traps - no community string.

I then gave him admin rights, logged him back in - community strings showed.

Set him back to non-admin - no community string.

I do the same thing with V9.1.0 and it doesn't work. Admin/no admin doesn't matter.
